June Faves :)

Another month has gone by my lovelies...2010 is more than half over now - weren't we just celebrating the new year a couple weeks ago?!  Goodness!
Here's another June Favorites post, i'm sure your dashboards are blowing up with them right now, but i thought i'd share with you all what i've been loving this month :)

Herbal Essences Hydralicious Reconditioning Shampoo for Dry/Damaged Hair ♥
I already did a post including this product with a bit of a rave (link here), but i have been totally loving this product this month!  It has a thick consistency and creates the most rich, luscious lather which leaves my hair feeling super soft.  It also doesn't leave my hair feeling dried out like other shampoos seem to do.  Love!

I'm pointing to the shadow i'm talking about - it's the brown matte one :)
Lancome Eyeshadow in "Mochaccino" ♥
I have loved this shadow for the longest time, long before i got my Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows!  It's a very lovely light brown color that is quite buildable.  I usually do a light shimmery color (most likely Urban Decay's "Sin") all over, and then place this in the crease & build it up in the outer corner, with a black liquid liner, mascara, & a bit of black liner on the waterline - it's such a simple, but pretty look :)

Bare Minerals All-Over Face Color in "Warmth" ♥
Since it's summer, i've totally embraced the whole 'bronze-y' type of look :).  I use Warmth as a bronzer & a subtle contour and i love it!  It's really easy to work with and looks really natural - although it looks orangey in the pot.  You also need to smallest amount, so this sample-size container will last for a long, long time!

Maybelline Eyelash Curler ♥
I'll be the first to admit that i'm a lash fanatic.  I love my mascara, and i love my eyelash curlers!  Something as simple as curling your lashes can really help your lashes look longer and help you appear more awake - & i personally think it just looks really pretty :).  I curl my lashes before i put on mascara & in the middle of the day, i re-curl them as they can droop a bit :).

Up & Up Women's Daily Multivitamin Dietary Supplement ♥
My doctor suggested i go on a multivitamin, so of course i didddddd.  Up & Up is just Target's brand, and this bottle was only a couple of dollars & really has the same vitamins & minerals as the more popular & costly brands.  The only thing about these is that they smell kind of bad, but i just hold my breath :) - it also took a couple days to get used to swallowing that massive pill haha.

Boots Botanics Organic Face Rosewater Toner ♥
I bought this after i heard a lot of positive reviews on it, and i've had this for a couple weeks now.  I absolutely love this stuff!  I used it with a cotton ball after cleansing my face & it removes any makeup & soap that may still be on my face.  It's also gentle, unlike other toners i've used (*Clinique*...ahem).  I love that it's organic & as very few ingredients as well :).  I honestly noticed a difference in my skin just a few days after starting using this!  Lovelovelove.  (Boots brand is available at Target in the US if anyone was wondering :)

This was a blush-bronzer duo, hence the other pan :)
Clinique Powder Blush in "Iced Lotus" ♥
As you can all probably tell, this blush has been well-loved.  It's a very pretty light-medium pink (if that makes sense :), with a little bit of shimmer.  I don't usually like blushes with shimmer in them, as i have quite oily skin, but i feel in summer i can pull it off a bit more :).

What have you been loving this month?

My Favorite Jewelry Pieces ♥

This post is just going to be on my favorite jewelry pieces in my collection.  I'll put a little description of each & i'll try to be brief as to not bore you all! :)
I also want to add quickly that i hit 300 followers yesterday!  That's honestly insane & i love each and every one of you, i really do :).  Cyber-hugs? :D ♥

This is an overview of my faves :)
I love everything girly and quirky, and i gravitate towards gold the most.  I love pearls and cameos, and i love sparkle.  I absolutely adore anything vintage as well, and a lot of my favorites are from my auntie & grandma ♥

Let's get onto it!

-

NECKLACES
1. The pendant on this necklace is from the Washington National Cathedral & was one like $2!  I put it on a chain i had & i bring this necklace everywhere with me - like a good luck charm i suppose :)
2. This heart locket necklace was a gift from my parents, it has a longer chain & i just think it's so pretty.
3. I felt the need to include a statement necklace & this is it!  I got this from my aunt.  It's massive (which i love hehe) & i rarely wear it, but i think it's a really cool piece.
4. This necklace is from Charlotte Russe & i got it after i saw a photo of Demi Lovato wearing a similar necklace (because i'm lame ;).  It adds a bit of interest to a would-be boring outfit :)
5. This necklace was a gift from another aunt & it's really subtle, but very pretty.  It says 'dream' on it, which might be a bit tacky to some people, but i actually love it - it also has two little crystal charms.
6. This is a cameo locket from Forever 21 - it has a chain, but it broke =/.  It's still a fave & it came with bow and rose charms - super cute!
7. This is a vintage pendant from my grandma & i think it's absolutely gorgeous, i prefer this over my Forever 21 one :)

-

RINGS
L-R
1. This owl ring from PacSun is really quirky & pretty and i always get compliments on it!
2. I got this rose ring from my sister just yesterday, and it's already one of my faves!  It makes my hands look feminine & i just adore it hehe :)
3. I got this super beat-up ring from an estate sale - it's so sparkly & unique, and i love it, missing rhinestones & all :)

-

BRACELETS
L - R & no, i don't wear these all at once ;)
1. The "Laura" bracelet my friend made for me :)  I adore it & it fits my wrists perfectly!
2. This pearl bracelet i got from Boston Store is all one piece & it used to have a flower on it, but it fell off within 24 hours of getting it =/ - still pretty & feminine :)
3. This dolphin hinge bracelet is so pretty!  I got it from Goodwill & i always get people approaching me & asking if they can try it on..haha :)
4. I just got this last bracelet from Summerfest last Thursday & i've been wearing it since.  I just love it :)  Reminds me of that amazing night whenever i look at it ♥

-

BROOCHES/PINS
1. I call this lovely lady on the left my "Lady GaGa" pin!  I absolutely lovelovelove it.  I got it from my aunt & i can really spice up a plain blazer or sweater!
2. The bumblebee pin on the top right i got from Goodwill & i really love it - it's so cute!
3. The crown pin i just think is really pretty & yeah :)

-

EARRINGS
1. My dad brought these pearl earrings back from China and gave them to me as a gift when i was younger.  I absolutely love them ♥.
2 & 3. I made both pairs of these earrings myself out of buttons :) They can both add a little bit of interest & quirkiness to an outfit.
4. I got these earrings from my aunt - they're clip-on, which can give my ear / head region a bit of an ache, but they are absolutely gorgeous.
5. I got these rose earrings from Forever 21 in a set with #7, and they are super pretty & girly :)
6. These ladybug earrings from Claire's are super old, but soo adorable!
7. These are my go-to earrings.  They always, always in my ears, unless i take them out to put other ones in of course :)

My Amazing Week in Photos :)

This past week has been a really busy, yet exciting one!  Hence lack of blog posts, ahem.  Since i took a few photos of some of the things i did the past couple days, i thought i'd share them with you lovelies!
This is my first post like this, so i'm not sure how well it will go over, but i really hope you all enjoy it!

So i have marching band Monday - Friday for 3 hours in the morning so it's a major fml - but i'm pretty sure i'm quitting that so, yeee... haha D:
Oh, and OMG that USA vs. Ghana match yesterday..... majormajormajor sadface :(  Landon, i still love you ♥

Tehe anyway, onto the post....! ♥

-

WEDNESDAY:
Taken on my Blackberry so it's not the greatest quality - still thought it was pretty though :D
I had band in the morning and then my friend called around 9 PM to walk around the neighborhood so we walked to the bridge, watched the sun set, and talked about summer :)

-

THURSDAY:
Thursday was a major day for me!  It was opening day of Summerfest, which is this major summer festival in my city - it's filled with live music, beer, & fun little shops (oh & of course a chairlift :D).  People from out-of-state come, as well as people in the city & surrounding it.  It's such a fun time & is called the "World's Largest Music Festival" - definitely something every music lover should go to!  It's mah-jorrrr.
There doesn't seem to be many people, but trust me - it's packed!
"Drum for Peace" hahaha :)
This band from Africa was playing by the lakefront & offered people to play along with them - i didn't do it but some of my friends did!
This is a handmade bracelet i bought from one of the many, many jewelry stands :)
Crocs....fail.  There's definitely some interesting people-watching to be had at ol' Summerfest :)
There are so many different kinds of people - goths, drunks, cowgirls, bikers, indies - it's incredible.
Some of the shiny jewelry, tacky fake tattoo sleeves, and squishy duck-ball things at a shop :)
Didn't end up getting a decent photo - too busy dancing ;)
There are 11 stages at Summerfest & over 800 bands to see over the course of 11 days, so of course i had to go to at least a few :).
At 8:00, i saw this band called Tokyo Police Club.  I'd never heard of them, but they were opening for Passion Pit who were playing at 10:00, so my girlies & i had to go early (6:30 :O) to save ourselves spots for that!  TPC were pretty good.
The "Big Bang" fireworks to kick of Summerfest started at 9:30 & lasted for 30 minutes.
At 10:00, Passion Pit went on and it was aaaaamazing!  They are so, soo good live and the show itself was incredible.  Definately some strange people there...but worth it!
I danced and screamed and danced some more - still recovering from that actually...ahem...
We took the bus home which was an adventure in itself, ran into this hot guy that graduated from my school this year & his brother and we were all sat next to this drunk girl - absolutely hilarious!

-

FRIDAY:
romper - Target
lipstick - MAC Snob

This is what i call my "morning after" photo hahaaha.
I had to get up at 8:00 for band and make myself look somewhat presentable after a long night of partying... hehe ;)
I literally hadn't showered or anything - i was disgusting & i was completely okay with it :)

My friend had an extra ticket to the Brewer game (baseball, hehe :) which was fun fun fun!  We literally sat in the second to top row, which was actually pretty cool - i'd never been seated up so high!
We tailgated before out in the parking lot & nommed on some yummy food :)
Once again taken on my Blackberry, so not the best quality..i couldn't find my camera quick enough!
This hottie was walking up & down the aisle carrying a sign that said "HOORAY FOR BEER" on it - it was hilarious :)

Do you girlies like these types of posts?  I always enjoy reading them :)
Hope you ladies all have a fantastic week!

Review: Revlon Extra Life No Chip Top Coat ♥

I am so sooo sorry for the lack of posts lately (once again!), time for the excuses.... i have been super duper busy (standard, right?!) - i have band for three hours a day & am so tired when i get home that i just want to sleep.
I have also been out & about lately - i went to Summerfest yesterday/last night with some girlies and saw Tokyo Police Club & Passion Pit - SOOO much fun ahhhh, i might do a post on it :)
If you want to keep up to date with me though, you can always follow me on Twitter hehe - i'm always tweeting :)

This post is going to be a review on Revlon's Extra Life No Chip Top Coat, which i mentioned in a haul a couple weeks ago & some lovelies were interested in it, so i thought i'd do a review after testing it out!
Now, i've tried quite a few top coats in my nail-polish life, all basically drugstore, and i have to say this is my favorite.  The top coats i've tried have either taken a long time to dry, kind of defeating the purpose, or they've not provided the shine i desire :)
I have to say, i'm usually quite cheap when it comes to nail polishes, so i generally stick to the drugstore!

The brush is plastic & thin, which actually makes it quite easy to apply.

Consistency: The consistency of it is actually quite watery, which some girls may be annoyed by, but i'm personally not because it's really not to hard to work with & every other aspect of this product is really nice.
Drying time: The Revlon Extra Life No Chip Top Coat dries in fairly decent amount of time - i mainly paint my nails a few hours before i go to bed, and that usually means i wake up with big creases & lines in my polish - i didn't get that with this really, and if i did, they were quite subtle.
Shine: The shine this gives your nails is also sooo nice!  It looks really lovely, and it actually stays shiny & pretty for a long time!  Some top coats give your nails shine, but after a couple days it fades a bit, but i didn't get that with this!
Chipping/fading: The main thing this top coat is advertised for is anti-chippage & making your polish last longer on your nails.  I've used this top coat for my last two at-home manicures, and i can honestly say that i didn't get any chipping either times for at least 5-7 days, but i did get a bit of fading at the tips.
Price: This top coat by Revlon is really affordable, in the $4-5 range.

Overall
I would definately recommend this top coat to anyone who's looking for an affordable top coat.  I would definitely repurchase this myself!

I hope i helped you girls! (:

DIY: Inspiration Book :)

This post is a bit different than my other posts, but it still has to do with beauty, fashion, and blogging :)

I think we can all agree that everyone can get a little uninspired sometimes.  We do things, and as the days pass, it can get to be a bit monotonous - we all need a pick-me-up sometimes.  So what i've done was made an inspiration book!

I took an old two inch binder, a whole lot of plastic sheet protectors, scissors, old magazines, and a few printed out photos from the internet, and this is what came out!
If i'm feeling down, i may pick this DIY inspiration book up and flick through it a bit.  It reminds me of the reasons why i do what i do :).

The main reason i decided to make this book was not because i was in need of a bit of inspiration, actually - it was because i had an excess of magazines hanging out in my closet!  I couldn't bring myself to throw these all away, so i ripped out the pages i liked the most & put them into this book :)
Witness the plethora! :O

The first page has pictures of New York City because i wish to live there someday & at the time that i started this i was dead set on going hehe :) ♥.

Here are some more examples of pages this book contains!
You'll find:
♥ quotations
♥ pages from editorials, spreads
♥ a lot of pages from Urban Outfitters catalogs
♥ miscellaneous photos from the internet
♥ eye candy aka pictures of cute boys :)
Enjoy!

What inspires you?

My Current Go-To Lipstick!

Hello my lovelies :)
I'm genuinely sorry i haven't posted for a couple days, but i've just been feeling uninspired & just kfdjasoigje lately.  Also, if you follow me on Twitter, you might know that i have been spending the majority of my time watching Skins (i actually stopped watching it to write up this post :D - i'm now onto the second season, the 2nd episode, the one where is Sketchy is stalking Maxxie D: - so please, nooo spoilers!) - & omg, i'm officially an addict!
Anyone else love Skins as much as i do?
(Chris is my fave, nom nom nom ;)

And i digress......LIPSTICK!  As you may already know, i'm a lippy addict and i'm always on the hunt for some new formulas and shades to add to my collection.  Maybelline's Color Sensational Lipstick in "Pink Please" has been my go-to lipstick for months now, but i've finally found my new love - Revlon's Matte Lipstick in 002 Pink Pout.

I'm a complete sucker for pink lipstick to begin with, i just think it looks so pretty and feminine, and can really brighten up someone's face & make her look made-up without a whole lot of effort.
I'd heard many good things about this lippy shade, but whenever i went to go to Walmart to pick a tube up, they were always out of stock.  I went a couple weeks ago & there was one tube left, so of course i had to buy it! :)
I'm so, soo happy i did (despite my buyer's remorse immediately after my purchase ;).

The shade itself is a very wearable pink, but still quite noticeable.  I've swatched Pink Pout next to MAC's Snob, and although they look a bit different when you swatch it, they look quite similar on the lips - but not an exact dupe i'd say.  Snob is more cool-toned, with blue undertones, whereas Pink Pout is more warm, but Snob & Pink Pout are definately around the same shade.
To be honest, i quite prefer my Pink Pout to Snob, and find myself reaching for it a whole lot more.
The formula is quite long-lasting, only requiring a touch-up in the middle of the day.  The only negatives i find really is that it isn't very moisturizing, but since Revlon doesn't advertise it as such, i don't really mind - a simple application of lip balm before applying this does the trick though!
The other negative about this range in particular is the packaging - when you're in the store searching for a shade, you don't truly know what color you're getting because the tube is sealed with plastic, so you have to rely on the little see-through whole on top, the name, & the little color sticker on the bottom - not very helpful to be honest!  I know it's for the safety of the consumer, but it can be quite annoying when you're not certain that you'll like the color you'll be spending your money on to get :)

Ew, my lips - i know D:
I just wanted to show you girlies how it looks on!
The Revlon Matte Lipsticks are affordable and very nice quality, and Pink Pout is an amazing & flattering shade, making it my go-to lipstick! :)

What's your go-to lipstick?

Heaven in a Bath ♥

So yes, the title of this post is "Heaven in a Bath" - bold accusation, i'd say.  I can justify this though, because i have found a product that really does an amazing job at making you feel super relaxed and helps you wind down after a long, stressful day.

Lo & behold the Floating Island Bath Melt from Lush!
I have been wanting to try a bath melt from Lush for the longest time & was drawn to this particular one because of all the positive reviews i had been hearing (the name also took me to another place just in itself!  Floating Island....mmmmmm :)

Don't be fooled by the plain appearance ladies!  This bath melt looks like a cupcake with the top cut off and smells of vanilla and sweets, but it's not overwhelming or headache-inducing at all.
This is a fairly decent sized BM, so i got three uses out of it - i do have quite a small bathtub though.
Floating Island is stuffed with almond oil & cocoa butter, which makes it super moisturizing (as bath melts are made to be) and makes the bathwater super silky & amazing.  My skin felt like a dream during, after, and even the morning after the bath.
I admittedly was on the verge of falling asleep (twice) right in the tub on my first go with this melt - it's that soothing :)

Oooooo, witness the frothing ;)

There are only two bad things i'd have to say about this bath melt.  One is that the fragrance isn't very strong - other Lush bath products give me a sort of aromatherapy, which makes the whole bathing experience even more relaxing & incredible, but i didn't get that with this one.  Since this smells exactly like the Butterball Bath Bomb to me, i think paired with this melt, it would make for an aaaaamazing bath.
The other thing is that it made my bath really slippery, so i had to be careful standing up as i didn't want to slip (who does, right?) - this could potentially be an issue to other people as well, especially those who are older.
Oh, just a heads up - some people may be disappointed that it doesn't change the color of the bathwater as well!

-

The Floating Island Bath Melt is definitely a product worth trying out if you haven't already.  It's one of Lush's more pricier bath products at $7.95, or 3.50 British Pounds, but i'd say it's worth it!
Happy bathing ladies!

Floating Island is available in Lush stores & also online!:

Make Your Perfumes Last Longer!

So this was my perfume storage about a month ago...
...Pretty right?!  Well it was while watching one of Lollipop26's videos that i learned keeping your perfumes out in the open, where they could be exposed to sunlight, can actually be damaging to your favorite scents.
Sunlight, air, & heat speeds up the deterioration of perfumes, so as tempting as it may be to want to keep the pretty little bottles of perfume on display, you may want to think twice before doing so :)

I keep my perfumes in the top drawer of this unit.
This is now how i store my perfumes (with the drawer closed of course ;).  This keep them out of the sunlight & exposed air, so they'll be sure to last longer!
A dark drawer like this isn't completely necessary, as long as they're out of direct sunlight.  But since i consider my fragrances to be investments, as well as something quite special to me, i like to keep them safe & try to preserve them for as long as possible!

Sure this storage technique isn't the prettiest and it's quite a shame to not be able to display the gorgeous bottles, but it's worth it to increase the longevity of your favorite scents! :)

Hope i helped ladies! ♥

Love of the Week!: Lush Vanilla in the Mist Soap ♥

I haven't done a product/love of the week post for a while, so i thought it would start it up again!
What i am loving this week is:
Lush's "Vanilla in the Mist" Soap!

I briefly talked about this scrumptious soap in my May Favorites post & here is a full review :)

Let's start with the scent :).  I would describe it as a super warm, rich vanilla scent with hints of what smells like coffee - i wouldn't say it's very sweet, and although i'm usually one to go for super sweet, girly scents (ie The Godmother & Rockstar) - i personally adore it.  As i've noticed with other solid soaps, the scent doesn't linger too long on the skin unlike most liquid soaps - but personally, i don't mind that.

I got a big chunk of this, but i cut it up into little slices for convenience, and pictured above is one of the slices.
I apply the soap right onto my skin like that & it creates a super creamy lather.  It's kinda weird because sometimes the lather is yellow do to the yellow color of the actual soap, but i honestly don't mind that either haha.

I know a lot of people are concerned about solid soaps drying out their skin, which is completely understandable.  I would say this soap doesn't add any moisture to your skin, but i do kind of feel my skin is a bit tighter after rinsing this soap off.  It's not something i mind to much to be honest, but i know it might bother some people.

The only negative thing i really have to say about this soap are the vanilla pods stuck about in the soap (those are the brown chunks in the soap in the picture above).  They don't really exfoliate the skin, they just sort of scratch at it, and they really just plugs up the bath drain.  I just pick these pods out, but i feel like it takes up space where soap could be instead - so it's almost like you're getting less product for your money.

Price-wise, this is in the midrange as far as Lush soaps go - $6.25 per 3.5 ounces & 3.10 British Pounds per 100 grams.  This soap lasts a fairly decent amount of time.
I really recommend this to anyone really, if you want to try out a new scent or if you're scoping out for a new Lush soap :)

Vanilla in the Mist is available for the US here & for the UK here.
VITM is also available in all Lush stores.

A Few Target Goodies :)

I went to Target last weekend with my mom & she spoiled me a bit :)
I didn't get many things, but i still thought i'd share what i did get with you all!
Also, i'm sorry for all the recent haul-type posts, i promise i'll stop soon!
I also did get a dress, but i'm pretty sure i'm going to return it if i'm able.
On with the post!

The main reason i went to Target was to get a watch.  For some reason, my parents approve of me spending money a watch - i think it's because watches are so classic & timeless (haha, i spot a pun) that it's alright to spend that extra bit of money to get a really nice one.
This Merona watch was only $14.99 - can you believe it?!  It's big & gold, my dad actually says it's a masculine - but i love it!  I'm going to have to get a few links removed since it is quite loose and this watch probably won't last a while because it'll tarnish, it's already kind of breaking, and the three middle dials don't even work (meh =/) but i really love it, and for $14.99?!  I'll deal :)

I saw an ad in the weekly Target ad for a big sale on dresses and rompers, which looked fantastic, so of course i had to check it out!  I tried on several dresses & rompers and either i didn't like them as much in person or they didn't quite fit me correctly or really suit me.
I ended up just getting a black romper with little white stars on the for $19.99 and a really cute floral tank top with a sweetheart neckline that looks absolutely gorgeous on for $15.00 - both are by the brand Xhilaration.
At first i didn't like the romper, i thought the pattern was quite tacky, but it looks super cute on, i just had to get it!

The last thing i got was the Boots Botanics Rosewater Toner for $7.99.  I have been interested in this for a few months now ever since i heard so many positive reviews by a lot of UK beauty bloggers - Boots is an England-based brand - but i just put off buying it for a long time.
I am so sooo pleased with this product so far - i have genuinely noticed a difference in my skin & it doesn't sting my face at all like my Clinique 3-Step Toner does - i also love that it's organic!

-

By the way, i'm officially done with school for the summer!  Eeeeee :)
Also, best of luck to everyone who is still taking exams!  You can do ittttt! :D

Missing D.C. :(

So this isn't a typical kind of post from me, but i've been feeling really nostalgic lately and looking through old photos on the computer really sparked some memories.  A majority of these memories are from the trip i took to Washington DC in April of 2008.

The trip was absolutely amazing, it was such a fantastic experience.  It was a 4-day trip through my school, so it was meant to be very educational - and it was, but it was also so sooo fun.  We were lucky to have absolutely beautiful weather and everything went without a hitch!  Of course i took a ton of photos, over 1,000 & i've decided to show you ladies some :)

All i can really say is, ugh i wanna go back. ♥

The Washington Memorial & reflection pool from beside the Lincoln Memorial

The Jefferson Memorial

Trees at Mount Vernon - George Washington's Virginian estate

Mount Vernon, probably one of the favorite places we visited - omg, look how lush that grass is...

The Declaration of Independence! ♥

Me in front of the White House - LOL i look SO fdsajgeajklvjca, so just ignore my face :D

We walked to the Washington National Zoo & the houses and flowers and everything there was absolutely gorgeous.

The World War II Memorial at night, it's soo incredible.

The Washington National Cathedral

Nearby the Washington National Cathedral

The Iwo Jima Memorial

Not really sure... lol, it was a fun place though!

Part of the Arlington National Cemetery, walking away from where the changing of the guard takes place.

The Capitol Building!

Where is your favorite place you've ever traveled?
