Vintage spree.

Once a year, the thrift store i work at has a big vintage sale where we sell clothing, shoes (soo many boots!), hats, scarves, and bags that has been donated during the year & is considered 'vintage'.  I wasn't expecting too much to be honest, but when i was helping tag the items & set it all up last night, i became obsessed with everything i saw!  Since this is only a once-a-year sale, i have to pay full price for the items (usually get 50% off on clothes) and i can't stash anything for myself while i'm working.  Since i work 3-9 tonight, i woke up super early this morning to get there first thing so i could have first picks.

I feel so lucky to work where i do!  It's awesome to work with people who appreciate vintage things as much (or even more sometimes ;) as i do. ♥
You may notice something different about these photos from my last 'haul' type post, i've painted my room.  No more pink! :)

Leather fringe vest - $8.99 / Member's Only-style jacket - $7.49

Grey sweatshirt w/ pink & blue detailing - $6.99 / Grandpa-style cardigan (came with belt) - $6.99

Teddy bear fringed tee (don't judge me) - $4.99 / Colorado tee - $5.99

Kennedy Space Center tee - $6.99 / Wisconsin tee - $4.99

Sequined jacket - $9.99 / bag - $6.99

Minnetonka fringe ankle boots - $6.99/7.99

-

I am obsessed with everything i got, my faves are probably the fringe vest & the red jacket though!
Which piece(s) is/are your favorites?

the lennon effect

Apparently my arm/hand/whatever likes to make an appearance in all my photos!
I'd been taking a little break from eyeshadow, simply wearing liquid liner & mascara, but i've rediscovered my love for it!
top - H&M
white tank - American Eagle
shoes - Forever 21
sunglasses - thrift

01. As some of you may or may not know, today - thirty years ago - was the day John Lennon was murdered.  I wasn't aware of this until Jac Vanek tweeted about it, but i thought i'd dedicate this little outfit of the day post to him. He was an incredible artist and an inspiration to many.  He also (to my knowledge) kind of popularized the silouette of the sunglasses i'm wearing with this outfit!  The definitely don't suit me as well as they did him, but they have a great vintage feel & are a nice little tribute to him.  I'll leave you to listen to one of most well-known songs, Imagine.  Rest in Peace John ♥

02. I have YET to start my English essay!  (Speaking of The Beatles....).  I don't know why it's taking forever!  I promise i'll stop writing about this haha.  Motivation please?  Lol :).  I've recently changed the little message thing in the comments section, deff have a read before you leave a comment - it's not directed toward anyone in particular, but it's something that's been getting on my nerves lately.  I'll probably do a ranty post soon on what's been on my mind lately!

03. One of my best blogger girlies, Alexandra, made a new blog with one of her friends, definitely check it out!  Click here to have a little look :).  They've just gotten started, but so far it's an inspiration & beauty type of blog, so if that's something you're interested in, go have a clicky click!

04.  I don't know what's been up with me lately (probably hormones) but i've been drooling all over guys this entire week - even more than usual!  My friends have most likely gotten incredibly annoyed with me talking constantly about the opposite sex, but i can't help it!  There's one fella in particular but i won't bore you with that ;)

05. I was totally right about my mom surprising me with Inception btw, just as i predicted!

Forever 21 Bargains.

IMG_6561
I had a store credit for Forever 21 from when i returned a blazer & a top i didn't think i'd wear, so when my sister asked me to come with her to the mall, of course i didn't decline!  Forever 21 has some ah-mazing things for autumn & winter at the moment, so if you have access to a F21 store definitely check it out & grab yourself some bargains!
I didn't get much, but i really adore the three things i did manage to purchase :)
IMG_6537
Floaty floral top - $15.80
First of all, what a bargain!  I'm absolutely in love with this top - the cut, the print, the fabric - it's perfection.  Can't wait to wear this gorgeous thing with a black tank, jeggings, & flats once Wisconsin gets over this heat wave we're currently having!

Cream sequin top with silky back - Originally $22.80, reduced to $4.99...insane
This top is a medium & i feel like i'm drowning in it (i'm usually a large).  It fits kind of funny, but for about $5, what do you expect?  I wouldn't have paid the full price for it, but it was a steal for five bucks.
Little tip - a lot of tops that are reduced in price (because of defects, etc.) are usually hidden amongst the racks, so definitely keep a sharp eye out when shopping in F21!

Antique bicycle necklace - $4.80
I spotted this beaut hidden among the jewelry racks whilst standing in line to purchase the two tops above - and i'm SO glad i did!  I think it's quite quirky & i haven't seen much like it anywhere else!  Forever 21 is amazing for pieces like this (despite them not being super great quality).
I can't wait to wear this with the floaty floral top above ♥

My next post (which will hopefully be up tomorrow) will be on my DIY ombre hair!
Hope you had an amazing Monday, xoxo.

My Favorite Jewelry Pieces ♥

This post is just going to be on my favorite jewelry pieces in my collection.  I'll put a little description of each & i'll try to be brief as to not bore you all! :)
I also want to add quickly that i hit 300 followers yesterday!  That's honestly insane & i love each and every one of you, i really do :).  Cyber-hugs? :D ♥

This is an overview of my faves :)
I love everything girly and quirky, and i gravitate towards gold the most.  I love pearls and cameos, and i love sparkle.  I absolutely adore anything vintage as well, and a lot of my favorites are from my auntie & grandma ♥

Let's get onto it!

-

NECKLACES
1. The pendant on this necklace is from the Washington National Cathedral & was one like $2!  I put it on a chain i had & i bring this necklace everywhere with me - like a good luck charm i suppose :)
2. This heart locket necklace was a gift from my parents, it has a longer chain & i just think it's so pretty.
3. I felt the need to include a statement necklace & this is it!  I got this from my aunt.  It's massive (which i love hehe) & i rarely wear it, but i think it's a really cool piece.
4. This necklace is from Charlotte Russe & i got it after i saw a photo of Demi Lovato wearing a similar necklace (because i'm lame ;).  It adds a bit of interest to a would-be boring outfit :)
5. This necklace was a gift from another aunt & it's really subtle, but very pretty.  It says 'dream' on it, which might be a bit tacky to some people, but i actually love it - it also has two little crystal charms.
6. This is a cameo locket from Forever 21 - it has a chain, but it broke =/.  It's still a fave & it came with bow and rose charms - super cute!
7. This is a vintage pendant from my grandma & i think it's absolutely gorgeous, i prefer this over my Forever 21 one :)

-

RINGS
L-R
1. This owl ring from PacSun is really quirky & pretty and i always get compliments on it!
2. I got this rose ring from my sister just yesterday, and it's already one of my faves!  It makes my hands look feminine & i just adore it hehe :)
3. I got this super beat-up ring from an estate sale - it's so sparkly & unique, and i love it, missing rhinestones & all :)

-

BRACELETS
L - R & no, i don't wear these all at once ;)
1. The "Laura" bracelet my friend made for me :)  I adore it & it fits my wrists perfectly!
2. This pearl bracelet i got from Boston Store is all one piece & it used to have a flower on it, but it fell off within 24 hours of getting it =/ - still pretty & feminine :)
3. This dolphin hinge bracelet is so pretty!  I got it from Goodwill & i always get people approaching me & asking if they can try it on..haha :)
4. I just got this last bracelet from Summerfest last Thursday & i've been wearing it since.  I just love it :)  Reminds me of that amazing night whenever i look at it ♥

-

BROOCHES/PINS
1. I call this lovely lady on the left my "Lady GaGa" pin!  I absolutely lovelovelove it.  I got it from my aunt & i can really spice up a plain blazer or sweater!
2. The bumblebee pin on the top right i got from Goodwill & i really love it - it's so cute!
3. The crown pin i just think is really pretty & yeah :)

-

EARRINGS
1. My dad brought these pearl earrings back from China and gave them to me as a gift when i was younger.  I absolutely love them ♥.
2 & 3. I made both pairs of these earrings myself out of buttons :) They can both add a little bit of interest & quirkiness to an outfit.
4. I got these earrings from my aunt - they're clip-on, which can give my ear / head region a bit of an ache, but they are absolutely gorgeous.
5. I got these rose earrings from Forever 21 in a set with #7, and they are super pretty & girly :)
6. These ladybug earrings from Claire's are super old, but soo adorable!
7. These are my go-to earrings.  They always, always in my ears, unless i take them out to put other ones in of course :)

Vintage haulage :)

My dear grandmother watched (& i'm not quite sure how..haha) my jewelry collection and storage video, and after discovering my interest in jewelry, she has sooo lovely given me a few of her pieces.  One of my aunts has also given me jewelry..they are both such amazing people (and not just because they're giving me gorgeous things hehe) ♥

My grandma also gave me a cameo pendant that i put on a chain from one of my Forever 21 necklaces.  I think it's soo classy and pretty.  I love the detailing of her hair and the gold/copper tones of it.  Cameo necklaces are my faaav :)

I am such a pin person.  I put them on blazers, cardigans, you name it, i bedazzle it :)

I hate that Picnik makes the quality of your photos worse than they actually are when you want to make a collage and don't have a premium account grrr.
Anyway, these are clip-on earrings that i usually wouldn't go for, but i actually really like these.  My grandma said that these can also be put on shoes :)

This has to be one of my favorite pieces that i was given.  It is absolutely gorgeous, it's adjustable to fit my tiny wrists without falling off, and to my surprise, all of the little stones are still in place (the jewelry with rhinestones in it that i have have been such low quality).

This necklace goes with the cuff above and omg so gorgeous.  I feel like i don't have any event to go to worthy of wearing this to tbh haha.  My grandma also gave me this display mannequin thingy which is really awesome because i want to take special care of it ya know? :)

More sparkly things eeeeeeeeee :)
I couldn't get a decent photo of these earrings so i thought i'd just take a photo while i have them on.  These earrings are clip-on as well and i absolutely LOVE how they hang on the ear.  They are sparkly and gorgeous and i just love them ♥

Even more sparkle!  Haha :)
This is a pin as well, and i think it's soo pretty.  It will look amazing on my blazer!
This pin is my Auntie Pearl, she got it from her boyfriend when she was twenty, making it sixty years old.  I think that's so amazing, and it's sooo lovely of her to give me this piece that must've meant a lot to her.

-

Some extra bits:

A big, blue, velvet jewelry case.  Really nice actually, it looks pretty and it's a really good place to put those fragile but special pieces :)

Aghhhhh i was going totally bananas when i opened the envelope that contained these absolutely stunning photos of Marilyn Monroe.  Not only are they gorgeous, they go with my room perfectly and are such a collector's item.

-

I cannot tell my grandma and aunt how much i appreciate their generosity.  I'm soo thankful.  I'll be sure to take care of these pieces to preserve them and someday pass them on to my children.

Vintage Pins From My Lovely Aunt :)

I have a bit of a haul - I just had to show you guys these pins, they are goooorge.

You may think that pins are oudated and strange, but personally I love them!  They can give that extra "oomph" to an outfit & make it really unique.  You can dazzle up a blazer with them, cardigans, bags, jackets, scarves, bascially whatever you please!  (Think of it as Bedazzle-ing, but not tacky :)

My aunt gave me three of her pins that she doesn't wear anymore, which is awesome.  Yes, she's "older" (in her 70's, & still young at heart! ♥) and it's so cool getting things from other generations & family members because no one else really has them!

Vintage = ♥

Straight away after I saw this for the first time I thought - LADY GAGA!  The headpiece that the little face is wearing just screams GaGa to me ♥ - this is admittedly my favorite pin that I own.

Really like this one as well - so classy!

This one reminds me of GaGa too, but it also reminds me of The Phantom of the Opera - maybe it's because that's been on my mind a lot lately (if you follow me on Twitter, you'd know!  Goodness, I can't even explain how much I love love love that movie ♥) but after thought, it's logical that it reminds me of that.

If you've seen the movie, during the Masquerade the main colors are black, white, & gold (except the Phantom, of course, he wears red :) & this mask-pin just kinda sums the amazing scene all up for me :).

Hope you all enjoyed this post.  Questions?  Ask 'em!
